He picked up the container, looking around for an example. They seemed to be sipping it... Easy enough. He brought it to his lips and took a long swig. The liquid scalded his throat and tongue. His eyes watered severely as he forced the liquid down. He took a shaky breath and set the thing down. He'd decided that he didn't like it one bit.

A group of girls sitting not to far from Hale were having trouble not giggling. They were your average pep girls, hair done up in poney tails and pigtails, nails and makeup done just right. And, as most pep girls would if they saw a cute boy, were whispering and stealing glances of him.
-
Hale stared out of the window for a while before glancing around the room. A table of females was looking at him. He quickly turned around, putting his back to them. What if they had figured out that he didn't belong here?
-
They burst into another bout of giggles, earning the attention of the table next to them. They began discussing the passerby, and then the table after that and the table after that. Soon, almost the whole resturaunt as ablaze with the same question. Who is he?
-
Hale took another sip of the drink. It had cooled down significantly, and he was glad for that. He wanted to shrink away from their gazes. He could tell they were all talking about him.
-
Even the staff had begun to talk. "Hey Alicia, he's in your section right?" "Yeah! You should start up a conversation, see who he is and where he's from." "Go on, go as." Pestered by her co-workers, she took a coffeee pot and headed over. "You're quite the conversation starter."
-
Hale glanced up at her. He remembered learning a bit of their language when he was younger. It wasn't horribly difficult to figure out. "Hm. So I've been noticing..." His voice was gentle and quiet. It a sort of serene, spacey quality to it.
-
She refilled his mug, glacing back at the still giggling girls. "So where you from, if you don't mind my asking."
-
"I'm not from around here." He was at a loss. He had no knowledge of the geographical areas on this planet. Hopefully she wouldn't push it any farther.
-
"Well now that's pretty obvious." Alicia smiled, assuming he'd just rather not talk about it. "Any idea where you're going, then?"
-
Hi, I'm sorry. Dx My parents forced me to go outside and play football with the neighborhood boys.
He shook his head, another expression he'd seen used to mean 'no' or the negative. "I'm just... here." -
It's okay xD But, just out of curiousity, why?
"You got a place to stay?" Now she was almost as curious as the rest of the resturaunt. A stranger who didn't want to talk about where he was from, nor know where he was going. -
._. Because they think Christopher is a good match for me. Jesus, the boy who always spits in my face and nearly breaks my arm isn't a match for me. Dx And then there's no girls my age here. So it's the guys or the kiddies. I like the kiddies better, but playing with the guys makes me happy because I always beat them. >:3
A place to stay... He hadn't thought of that. He took another sip of the coffee. He was slowly getting used to the heat of it. "Maybe." -
Hm, I feel akward around guys.
"Well if you don't, you could always stay at my place. I've got a spare bed." She gave him one last smile, and went off to see to the rest of the customers. -
I've become used to it after a while. But at school I close up.
"Thank you," he said after the fact, doubting that he had heard her. He glanced around, noticing that people were leaving a strange type of paper on the tables before exiting the building. He reached into his pocket. He had a few gold coins left, the currency of his former home. They glistened as he held them in his palm for a moment. Hale placed two of them neatly beside the cup and stood up. Hopefully they would be worth enough.
