Hale slowly rose from his hiding place. That had been so close... He had been so near the end.
-
She moved on to examine the inside. It was lined with plushie things, for comfort no doubt, and a a large group of buttons resided on one wall. There were no labels, and Alicia couldn't help but wonder what each did.
-
Hale walked towards the capsule. "Don't touch those," he whispered from behind Alicia.
-
She whipped around, thinking it to be one of the three men from earlier. "Why not?" she asked, letting out a sigh of relief.
-
"They don't do anything that would benefit you. They only emitt acts of destruction from summoning others to vaporizing a whole planet," he explained in his soft, distant voice.
-
"O-okay." Alicia said, not liking the sound of that one bit. "But, h-how would you know that?"
-
Hale glanced up to meet her gaze. "It's a long story."
-
She shrugged, offering a small smile. "I've got time."
-
Hale sat down on the ground and leaned against a tree stump. He explained everything from Halla, to his identity, to the coin, to the mysterious people who had showed up tonight. He starred up at her, signaling the finish.
-
ALicia, kept her eyes on the ground, absorbing all the new information. "So.....they're here to kill you."
-
Hale nodded, his expression blank. "Yes. And if they cannot kill me here, they will do so in front of what is left of my people."
-
"I guess we can't let them find you, huh?" she said, holding out her hand to help him up.
-
Hale reached out and took her hand, standing up. "I suppose not."
-
She smiled, and went back behind the trees for her things. "We'll have to be really careful. It's a small town, wouldn't be all that hard for them to spot you."
-
"But you know how to make me fit in, right?" He paused, thinking. "Or at least appear to be?"
