I didn't notice it and I put the footrest down and walked away
came back later, sat down
all of a sudden I hear meowing
brother gets up and looks outside and then we finally realize he's under the sofa
my brother calls the cat a "fat f---ing idiot" and the cat jumps out from behind the sofa, showing he could have gotten out at any time
but since then, every time I close the footrest I do it extra slowly in case the animals are under there
I still feel kind of bad ;;
